Hampshire Sculpture Project

Southampton Solent University, Portsmouth University and Hampshire County Council.

To explore how 'Visual Design'  can be used to make heritage archives accessible and actively engaging to different audiences.

Across Hampshire a nuber of communities over the years have collected data on local sculptures. The aim of this project is to centralise this information and make it accessible to the public using a sustainable platform. The project has reasearched and developed sustainable multi media platforms which allow information to be displayed in an easily accessible manner that will actively engage any potential audience whist remailing fun and educational. The project involves IT games, photography and graphic design staff and students.

Expected outcomes
  • The creation of a series of e-booklets;
  • Research will offer transferable solutions to the Heritage industry, in relation to making archies accessible to the public;
  • Students gain industry experience.
